Meet the Net Gains: Our Spring League Champions

Three friends signed up for the spring league because one of them wanted something to do on Tuesdays. Ten weeks later they were holding the trophy, and nobody, them included, saw it coming.

A slow start

The Net Gains lost their first two matches. Badly. “We didn’t know what we were doing,” one of them told us. “We just knew we’d already paid.”

The turn

Something clicked in week four. They stopped trying to win points outright and started resetting. From there they didn’t drop another match, taking the final in a third-set tiebreak with the whole club standing along the fence line.
